Job Title: Asset Manager/ Property Manager

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager/ Property Manager to lead the delivery of strategic asset management and ensure that the Council has a land and buildings portfolio that is fit for purpose, cost-effective, and enables service departments to deliver their existing and future services in the most effective way.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Asset Transformation and Property Reviews: Lead on asset transformation proposals, property reviews, and locality reviews to ensure the Council has a land and property portfolio that is fit for purpose and cost-effective, supporting the wider structure agenda.
  2. Major Disposal Projects: Manage the delivery of major disposal projects, coordinating internal and external delivery teams to maximize strategic and commercial outcomes and achieve best consideration for the Council.
  3. One Public Estate (OPE) Initiative: Take responsibility for the Council's participation in the OPE initiative, working closely and collaboratively with other public sector partners to ensure the wider public sector serves the residents of Bexley.
  4. Strategic Advice and Team Leadership: Lead a team providing clear and well-considered strategic advice on maximizing the overall benefits of the Council's property holdings and transactions, rationalizing the corporate estate, and ensuring the portfolio makes a positive contribution to the Council's aim of being carbon net zero by 2030.
  5. Technical Advice and Direction: Provide direction and technical advice to colleagues within the Asset Team, as appropriate or as directed by the Head of Property & Faculties Management.
