We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Forecasting Analyst to join our Regional Energy Strategic Planning (RESP) team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing and modelling short and long-term regional energy pathways and scenarios that show energy supply and demand projections across Great Britain.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new processes to create regional whole energy supply and demand pathways and scenarios from a wide range of local energy datasets.
- Undertake scenario modelling and analysis to develop future whole energy supply and demand projections across the RESP regions.
- Lead the development of consistent planning assumptions and approaches with energy experts across the industry in areas such as whole energy forecasting.
- Engage with external stakeholders through bilaterals and workshops to inform your modelling, analysis, and processes.
- Proactively monitor the evolving discussion around net zero decarbonisation by liaising with key stakeholders and benchmarking modelling against external publications.
- Identify areas of improvement and share best practice both within the team and externally.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong analytical background, particularly in energy planning, and experience of working with complex datasets. You should have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have a degree in a relevant field, such as STEM, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or other relevant data analytics qualifications or industry experience. Experience of using a range of analysis software or programming languages, such as Excel, SQL, R, GIS, or Python, is also essential.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary between £51,000 - £61,000 per annum, dependent on experience and capability. You will also receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
