Procurement Excellence Lead

Müller UK & Ireland is a leading dairy company with a strong presence in the UK market. We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Excellence Lead to join our team and drive strategic procurement leadership across our Indirect & IT function.
About the Role:The Procurement Excellence Lead will be responsible for providing strategic procurement leadership to the Indirect & IT team, with a focus on category management, supplier management, and sustainability activities. This role will involve working closely with spend category aligned teams to eliminate, automate, shift, optimize, and standardize activities across the end-to-end Source to Pay (S2P) process.
Key Responsibilities:- Working with the Group Procurement Director to deliver the new Indirect organization structure and support the continued evolution of the Group Shared Service (GSS)-enabled operating model.
- Accelerating the adoption of category and supplier management within Indirect & IT, acting as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing expertise and knowledge transfer.
- Developing and optimizing clear, consistent procurement standards and ways of working across Indirect & IT, driving functional efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leading and coordinating sustainability activities across Indirect and IT, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Operating as the primary interface with GSS Procurement & Accounts Payable and Procurement Governance & Compliance.
- Leading the Group Procurement Training Academy, including curating content for both expert and business users.
The ideal candidate will have a degree education, operated at a senior level within a fast-paced, complex organization, and recognized expertise in the procurement discipline. They will also have deep knowledge of spend category management, supplier management, S2P process management, and sustainability legislation.
The role requires excellent communication skills, structured thinking, and the ability to build trusted relationships quickly. The candidate should be able to exert influence both inside and outside the function and deliver a positive impact.
SAP Ariba experience, specifically Guided Buying, sourcing, and contract management modules, is desirable. Knowledge of shared-services enabled operating models and experience of procurement-related sustainability activities (Scope 3 emissions, EcoVadis) are also beneficial.
