BAE Systems seeks a highly skilled Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering team. This is a critical role that requires expertise in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design and testing.
About the Role
As a Principal EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub-systems, and components. Your primary goal will be to ensure compliance with contractual requirements for EMC design. You will work closely with design teams to advise on EMC requirements and design considerations. Additionally, you will liaise with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards. To excel in this position, you must have extensive experience in design for EMC compliance and a deep understanding of EMC Defence Standards. Proven coaching and mentoring skills are also essential as you will be working with engineers within the team.
Your Skills and Qualifications
To succeed as a Principal EMC Engineer, you must possess a BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification. Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this is also mandatory. In addition, you should have experience of designing systems that meet EMC standards, knowledge of relevant industry standards, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. If you have knowledge of EMC Defence Standards, it would be an added advantage. A competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience, reflects the importance of this role within our organisation.
Benefits and Career Development
As a member of our team, you will receive a range of benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave incentive, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. You will also have access to flexible working arrangements, an employee assistance programme, Cycle2work, and employee discounts. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria. Our commitment to inclusivity and diversity ensures that everyone has an equal opportunity to grow and develop their careers.
