Medical Secretary Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Secretary to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This role involves providing administrative support to Consultants and their teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide excellent patient care and contribute to the success of our hospital.
Main Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive personal assistant/secretarial services to Consultants and clinical staff
- Accurately transcribe complicated dictation with complex medical terminology
- Compose letters as required and undertake transcription of dictation
- Take, write and distribute formal and informal minutes for departmental meetings
- Receive and process all incoming mail, bringing it to the attention of medical staff and taking appropriate action
- Triage calls, dealing sympathetically with patients and relatives, using tact and discretion
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, prioritising workload and managing multiple tasks under pressure
- GCSE English Language, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Evidence of continued professional development
- ECDL qualification or equivalent
- Qualification in Customer Service or relevant experience
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider, dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
We offer a competitive salary of approximately £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
