Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated marketing and digital communications professional to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for using your written and digital skills to communicate, publicise, and support our work in services across England.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective marketing and communications strategies to promote our services and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders, practitioners, and marketing and communications colleagues to build Compass's profile in both the local and national context.
  • Design and produce high-quality marketing materials, including social media content, news stories, and marketing assets.
  • Manage and maintain our website and social media channels to ensure consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Monitor and analyse engagement metrics to inform future marketing and communications strategies.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

A communications/marketing degree or equivalent experience.Previous relevant experience of successfully working in a marketing or communications role.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent copywriting, proof-reading, and editorial skills.Proven experience in supporting the delivery, development, and evaluation of high-quality and targeted marketing campaigns.Strong social media skills/experience; ability to monitor and build engagement using both paid and organic techniques.Demonstrable skills in graphic design, illustration, and photo and video production and editing using the Adobe Suite.Ability to create and analyse engaging marketing emails using Mailchimp (or similar).Competent use of WordPress CMS to update and develop service webpages.Ability to use analytics tools to create meaningful reports, including Google Analytics.Skilled use of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.Experience of organising successful events and campaign launches.

Additional Criteria

We are looking for a candidate who:

Has a strong understanding of digital marketing/communication methods, technologies, and platforms.Is familiar with best practice for Search Engine Optimisation.Has knowledge of relevant marketing theories and models.Is able to work from home with intermittent travel across England (including occasional overnight away).Is able to work all year round and flexibly as part of a team to best meet business needs.Has a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.Is able to undertake the demands of the post with reasonable adjustments where required.
