Senior Actuary Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary to lead our Reinsurance Business Group at AXA XL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for regulatory reporting and submissions, as well as supporting the analysis needed for statutory certification of reserves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of annual actuarial reserving reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Support the analysis needed for statutory certification of reserves.
  • Peer review assumptions and projections from a legal entity perspective.
  • Develop and lead the production of analytics, exhibits, and reports for regulatory deliverables.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and business partners in finance and capital.
  • Support strategic actuarial initiatives by providing timely and insightful business intelligence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, applied math, statistics, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with reserving methods and tools, including ResQ or similar actuarial modeling software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VBA, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and ask questions to develop business knowledge and effective solutions.
