Environmental Sustainability Manager

Alstom is a leading global provider of sustainable mobility solutions, and we are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in the UK and Ireland region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental and social aspects of our projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and promoting sustainable practices throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing environmental management plans and strategies to minimize the environmental impact of our projects.
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure environmental and social considerations are integrated into project planning and delivery.
  • Providing guidance and support to project teams on environmental and social issues, including noise and vibration management, ecology awareness, and pollution prevention.
  • Managing environmental consents and permits, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including clients, local authorities, and community groups.
  • Conducting environmental surveys and assessments, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Supporting the development of corporate-level environmental initiatives and strategies.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in environmental management and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science or management.
  • Full membership of a relevant professional body, such as IEMA or CEnv.
  • Experience in managing environmental management systems to ISO 14001:2015.
  • Experience in construction and/or rail-related lead environmental roles.
  • Regulator, local authority, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Data analysis and EPI reporting skills.
  • Practical environmental problem-solving skills.
