About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Residential Support Worker in Rotherham.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing a safe, nurturing environment and supporting their development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Development of Young People
    • Build trusting and positive relationships with children and young people.
    • Respond to individual needs, nurturing personal development, education, and wider learning.
  • Contribute to a Supportive Team Environment
    • Be part of a supportive team, fostering a safe and caring living environment.
    • Engage in a variety of duties, from organising activities to attending parental appointments.
  • Meet the Requirements of the Role
    • A good standard of literacy and numeracy, with basic computer literacy.
    • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care preferred but not essential.
    • Recent experience supporting children or young people with additional emotional/behavioural issues or other SEN barriers.
    • Excellent communication and listening skills.
    • Strong teamwork and emotional intelligence.
    • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, and nights.
    • Good rapport-building skills and a genuine passion for creating a safe and positive home environment for young people.
