Job Overview

This Programme Accountant position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a large transportation infrastructure scheme within construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective financial management and control of the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Financial management and control of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  2. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
  3. Providing financial support on Owner's Brief, Project Proposals, and Owners reports to funders.
  4. Ensuring timely submission of budgets into the Agresso System and ongoing monitoring of financial information.
  5. Supporting the development of Project Target Costs, including Value for Money review.
  6. Consolidating project and programme management reporting spending to the AMT, ALT, and Project Board.
  7. Delivering agreed methodologies and administering Programme Management & Project Support allocations.
  8. Supporting performance management processes and administration of performance payments.
  9. Reviewing and streamlining account management preparation processes across external construction partners.
  10. Preparing audit packs and collaborating with non-finance managers to develop integrated processes.
  11. Investigating variances and challenging financial management information to ensure accuracy.
