Medical Specimen Technician

Care New England Health System is seeking a Medical Specimen Technician to join our team. As a key member of our phlebotomy department, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing them for laboratory testing. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the Job
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who can work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of six months' experience in phlebotomy or a related field, and hold current certification in phlebotomy (CPT).
Key Responsibilities
* Obtain blood samples from patients using venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks
* Enter patient information into the hospital system accurately and efficiently
* Organize and distribute workload in phlebotomy to ensure timely results
* Order tests and contact physicians as needed
* File and scan scripts and insurance information
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
