Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents, in compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the care team to deliver exceptional care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
  • Develop and implement care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each resident, in collaboration with the care team and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews of resident care plans to ensure they remain up-to-date and effective.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure that all aspects of resident care are delivered to the highest standards, including medication management, personal care, and social activities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the care team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all care team members are aware of and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance and monitoring activities to ensure that care standards are maintained and improved.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of care planning and delivery, with a focus on promoting independence and dignity.
  • A good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and their families, with a commitment to delivering person-centered care.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and monitoring standards, with the ability to implement and maintain high standards of care.
  • A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care, with a willingness to work towards Level 3.
  • A willingness to work towards NVQ/QCF Assessors Award.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience caring for older people, people with disabilities, or people with mental health needs.
  • Experience in ordering, receiving, administering, and storing medication.
  • Availability for flexible hours working, including weekends, which may include hours beyond the normal shift pattern.
  • Willingness to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
