Nexgen Group is a dynamic and supportive organization based in the UK, currently looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee and manage end-to-end payroll for four companies, covering approximately 3,000 employees. This role is ideal for someone with payroll experience looking to grow into a leadership position and make a significant impact.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £43,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, and benefits include Monday to Friday working hours (Hybrid - three days from home), 8am - 4pm, and 37.5 hours per week.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing assigned payrolls, working closely with the Group Head of Payroll to resolve discrepancies and complex payroll issues. Key responsibilities also include supervising and supporting payroll coordinators handling multiple PAYE systems, submitting all RTI, FPS, and EPS to HMRC, making PAYE payments, and ensuring correct tax and deductions.

  • Manage company mileage, cars, and NIC/Class 1A contributions.
  • Analyse variance reports, ensuring all variances are justified before payroll approval.
  • Support the Group Head of Payroll in managing company pension schemes (LGPS and statutory pensions).
  • Support year-end payroll activities (P60s and P11Ds), supporting finance teams with audits and payroll-related processes.
Requirements:

We are looking for a professional with proven experience in a payroll supervisory or team leader role, or significant experience as a Payroll Officer/Specialist looking to progress into a leadership position. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of payroll systems, financial regulations, and high-volume payroll processing.

  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and advanced Excel proficiency (including lookups and pivot tables).
  • Ability to perform manual calculations and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
