About the Role

Mears is seeking a skilled Welfare Support Officer to provide integration support services to families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients to ensure their well-being and provide practical and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safeguarding and welfare support to service users, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor service users' wellbeing and support needs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, local authorities, and service users to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Develop and implement support packages to maintain independence and promote self-sufficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable and diverse client groups.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • Ability to identify individual and family needs, and develop tailored support packages.
  • Experience working with mental health and challenging behavior.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
