Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Senior & Deputy Practice Nurse, assisting the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Main Duties

  • BP Monitoring
  • New patient health checks/CVD screening
  • ECG recording
  • Phlebotomy
  • Urinalysis
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Assisting the surgeons with minor operations and theatre surgical procedures
  • Organisation of stock levels and ordering
  • Correctly labelling all specimens and ensuring their safe dispatch
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
  • Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
  • Providing care to housebound patients in their home/care home

About You

We are looking for a motivated and empathetic individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also have a strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to strict clinical protocols.
