Divisional Communications Officer - East & West Midlands
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting the charity's work across the East & West Midlands region. Your primary objective will be to develop and implement effective communications strategies to support the charity's projects and initiatives.
Reporting to the Media Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across the region to create engaging content, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and provide expert communications advice to Divisional Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communications plans to promote the charity's work and raise awareness of its projects and initiatives.
- Research and write high-quality content for various media channels, including social media, press releases, and internal communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Divisional Leaders, stakeholders, and other key partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide expert communications advice to Divisional Leaders on complex or sensitive issues, working closely with the Head of Communications and PR.
- Deliver charity news stories across regional and local media, and support national media campaigns.
- Contribute to the development of internal communications, including stories and articles for the intranet.
- Support the out-of-hours media rota as required.
Requirements:
- A proven track record in media relations, ideally within a large complex organization or the charity sector.
- Excellent experience in producing high-quality content for various digital channels and social media platforms.
- Strong research skills to source content for briefings, materials, and case studies.
- Experience in generating wide media coverage to support campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Brand and reputation management experience.
- Media strategy knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
