About the Role

As a Track Renewal Engineer at Colas Rail, you will play a crucial part in the planning and delivery of track renewals, ensuring technical aspects of all works comply with relevant Network Rail Group and Line Standards and safety legislation. This is a 40 hour per week committed hours contract until at least June 2026.

  • Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken in compliance with Contractual Specification and Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Undertake all technical aspects of works in compliance with Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Review completed works to ensure 'Best Practice' and 'Lessons Learnt' activities are captured, recorded, and utilised in future work planning and execution.
  • Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal and Enhancement works.
  • Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on site, preparation of documents.
  • Production of design drawings in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Ensure all works undertaken are planned, installed, and tested in accordance with appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Role takes on the key responsibility of carrying out Engineering management responsibilities under direction of the Lead Engineer/CRE. This will include the management of the installation of new track geometry to design specification and creating an accurate 'As Built' record.
  • Completion of engineering compliance activities including, but not exclusive to, managing infrastructure registers, managing CRT requirements, and building a robust and accurate H&S file for the job.
  • HNC in an Engineering discipline or working towards.
  • Good communication and man management skills.
  • PTS and COSS.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience of a broad range of relevant Engineering fields.
