About the Role

As a Senior Track Engineer at Colas Rail UK, you will play a crucial part in the planning and delivery of track renewals. Your technical expertise will ensure that all works comply with relevant Network Rail Group and Line Standards and safety legislation. This is a 40 hour per week committed hours contract until at least June 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken in compliance with Contractual Specification and Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Undertake all technical aspects of works in compliance with Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Review completed works to ensure 'Best Practice' and 'Lessons Learnt' activities are captured, recorded, and utilised in future work planning and execution.
  • Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal and Enhancement works.
  • Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on site, preparation of documents.
  • Production of design drawings in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Ensure all works undertaken are planned, installed, and tested in accordance with appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
  • Carry out Engineering management responsibilities under direction of the Lead Engineer/CRE including the management of the installation of new track geometry to design specification and creating an accurate 'As Built' record.
  • Completion of engineering compliance activities including managing infrastructure registers, managing CRT requirements, and building a robust and accurate H&S file for the job.

Requirements
  • HNC in an Engineering discipline or working towards.
  • Good communication and man management skills.
  • PTS and COSS.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a broad range of relevant Engineering fields.
