Job Summary
This is a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist position within the Trauma and Orthopaedics service, working at the Worcester Royal Hospital in Worcester. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in providing high-quality occupational therapy assessment, treatment, and discharge planning to patients with complex trauma injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients with acute trauma injuries, including traumatic brain injury and elective orthopaedics.
- Hold an active caseload and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely assessment and discharge.
- Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff and students, focusing on trauma and orthopaedics.
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies related to trauma and orthopaedics.
- Contribute to the education and training of colleagues and students, with a focus on trauma and orthopaedics.
- Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure seamless care and transitions for patients.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Postgraduate training in areas related to trauma and orthopaedics.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NHS hospital-based trauma and orthopaedics, with a focus on cognitive assessments and multidisciplinary team work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £43,141 - £62,065 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
Working Arrangements
This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, with the possibility of flexible working arrangements. The post holder will be required to work across a 7-day rota, including bank holidays and evenings.
Location
The successful candidate will be based at the Worcester Royal Hospital in Worcester, with opportunities to work across other sites within the trust.
