About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Oakham Shires School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with Autism and complex needs to achieve their Education Health Care Plan outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with Autism and complex needs in a specialist curriculum setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students to help them navigate their lives
  • Assist with the development of life skills and accreditations in Maths, English, and Science
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or above
  • Experience of supporting autistic teenagers with complex needs
  • Ability to work in a small class group setting with a high staff-to-pupil ratio

Oakham Shires School is an Independent Special School for 11-18 year olds with Autism and associated diagnosis and special education needs. We provide a specialist curriculum and small class groups to support our students in achieving their outcomes.
