Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Mpac, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality service projects.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the successful delivery of multiple service projects within agreed schedules and budgets.
- Work closely with the Service team, site management, sales, technical, applications, projects, purchasing, and operations teams.
- Be the trusted partner of the customer, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Develop and manage project estimates, budgets, schedules, and staffing to ensure consistency with project plans.
- Oversee the manufacture, procurement, and delivery of components to meet Mpac standards and achieve 'On Time in Full' targets.
- Communicate effectively with external and internal customers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required components.
- Monitor project budgets and payment schedules to ensure timely payment and minimize financial risks.
- Create, monitor, and review all project management documents in line with planning SOPs.
- Arrange and coordinate project review meetings to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Highlight critical contractual obligations to ensure compliance and minimize potential risks.
- Be a single point of contact throughout the project, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely delivery.
- Develop a sound understanding of contractual requirements and communicate these to the wider business.
- Plan the project programme, define high-level milestones, monitor progress, and resolve issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Review payment schedules and advise the Accounts team on timely payment requests.
- Produce project status documents on a weekly basis, updating documents as necessary to ensure timescales and deadlines are met.
- Work with internal teams to identify high-risk elements of the project and facilitate successful delivery.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams regarding changes to the original specification.
- Be commercially aware of implications and coordinate the interface and flow of work to ensure successful project delivery.
- Communicate with the end customer on costs and lead-time impact, obtaining approval and initiating necessary actions.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately produced and delivered in line with project schedules.
- Manage the manufacture of components through the factory and with sub-contract suppliers to ensure final delivery dates are met.
- Liaise with Warehouse on a daily basis regarding transportation requirements to ensure best use of available resources and efficient delivery routes.
- Liaise with Operations regularly on progress, referring to assembly requirements as necessary to ensure smooth transition of work throughout the factory and achievement of lead times.
- Experience of managing multiple production projects simultaneously.
- Experience in evaluating technical requirements and providing viable solutions.
- Commercially aware of the effective use of resources, scope change, and implications of choice.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, adjusting approach or communication channel to suit the circumstances.
- Ability to manage multiple shifting priorities, demands, and timelines simultaneously.
- HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, including MS Project.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of British and international standards relative to the design and installation of industrial automation systems.
- Awareness of quality and safety management processes.
- Experience of LEAN manufacturing techniques.
- ERP/MRP planning software would be an advantage.
- Ability to understand technical engineering drawings using geometric tolerances.
