Design Engineer for Industrial Automation Projects

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team at Endeavour Recruitment, working on industrial automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
About the Role:
This is a contract role with a competitive estimated salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of customer requirements and be able to present design solutions in reviews.
Main Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality design outputs by thoroughly understanding customer needs and regulatory standards.
Continuously apply innovative thinking to enhance the value of design services.
Ensure design solutions are cost-effective, and manage scope changes as per standard operating procedures.
Maintain an understanding of project schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
Adhere to internal standard operating procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
Communicate project status to the Team Lead, customers, and suppliers to ensure proactive planning.
Support commissioning and build activities as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., Inventor, Solidworks).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will hold a HNC, HND, or BSc in a relevant engineering discipline with post-graduate experience.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have experience in creating and verifying design documentation (e.g., assembly drawings, P&I diagrams) and commercial awareness in managing resources and addressing scope changes.
