Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Air Sector at BAE Systems, this role is located in the UK and is open to job seekers with a strong background in finance and planning. Job Responsibilities:

Job Title: Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Air Sector

Salary: £80,000 depending on experience plus executive benefits.

In this role as a head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in the Air sector you will be:

  • Leading the co-ordination and consolidation of the Air sector financial performance through monthly reporting, including half & full year activity, and through the businesses long term financial planning process (IBP). You will work closely with the FP&A teams to forecast, plan and understand the sector financial performance, while also improving the processes through which they are delivered.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality FP&A services to the Air Sector, taking inputs from a variety of sources, analysing these, and bringing them together to provide quality, forward looking insights and analysis. You will need to understand each business to identify trends, highlight risks and opportunities and provide analysis, challenges and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the production and review of sector financial packs, including the financial elements presented at sector level IBP and CBR (Chief Executive) reviews.
  • Overseeing the BAE Systems reporting of the MBDA joint venture.
  • Deputising for the Air FP&A Director in reviews with other Senior Finance Directors.
  • Collaborating with Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and the wider finance function to actively contribute to wider business improvement initiatives to drive standardisation, efficiency and effectiveness.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Member of a recognised UK professional accountancy body (ACCA, CIMA etc) with significant post qualifying experience. Bringing a broad experience of finance management, planning and commercial finance in a complex business, and ideally a strong track record in the FP&A domain.
  • Demonstration of business understanding and articulation of forecast movements, risks and opportunities. The ability to synthesise multiple information points into a clear and succinct message, and comfortable making recommendations to senior stakeholders on courses of action.
  • While part of our FP&A capability centre, this role will draw on all aspects of finance within BAE Systems so you will ideally have had exposure to aspects of Project Finance, Cost Performance and Governance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to quickly establish efficient and effective working relationships with the wider team, and to influence key stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Organisation and management, you will be responsible for setting the planning and reporting drumbeat across the Sector and will be comfortable coordinating across a wide team, and planning to meet key deadlines and deliverables.

The Financial Planning & Analysis team:

Within the finance function, Financial Planning and Analysis teams are responsible for leading the delivery of high quality and forward-looking financial analysis and insights to the business. Bringing together FP&A experts from across the UK footprint, they are the primary points of contact into business Finance Directors and provide crucial insights on the key business and financial performance.
