About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Volunteer Peer Support Group Lead. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our Wellness Garden in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands.

As a Volunteer Peer Support Group Lead, you will be responsible for delivering and leading support sessions, working closely with our existing Peer Led Art and Craft and Creative Writing groups. We are open to working with volunteers who can deliver sessions that enhance the creative/learning activities, so if you have the skills and drive to lead a group, we would love to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your existing skills, network with other volunteers, and make a real difference in the lives of others. You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role.

About the Service

Our Wellness Garden is a Community Education Garden & Café green space for the community of Leek, local schools, colleges, and social enterprises. Our aim is to enable the local community to work, learn, and socialize with people with mental and physical health support needs.

We are open 6 days a week, and this role will require you to commit to a few hours of volunteering on a weekly basis. You will be responsible for facilitating a peer support group around a skill set that is familiar to you, such as creative arts, crafts, textiles, or poetry.

We are looking for someone who is organized, forward-thinking, and able to communicate effectively. You should be encouraging and willing to help others, with a good understanding of how to share your knowledge and skills with others.
