Residential Deputy Manager Job Description

Job Title: Residential Deputy Manager

Location: Carlisle

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £, per annum (including sleep-in shifts)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our residential care home, providing leadership and guidance to our staff, and ensuring the highest standards of care for our young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the needs of our young people
  • Develop effective communication strategies and systems to support staff
  • Manage and develop quality direct services to young people
  • Ensure staff training and development needs are identified and met
  • Comply with Health and Safety Regulations and ensure the home is maintained to a high standard
  • Manage finance budgets, control, administration, and records
  • Promote and implement Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality
  • Establish and manage team communications systems
  • Ensure professional practice is carried out to the highest standards
  • Provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management
  • Manage a designated budget, ensuring value for money and early identification of financial irregularities
  • Supervise and appraise staff, ensuring they follow company procedures
  • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to company policies
  • Participate in the induction programme and CWDC -day course

Requirements:

  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Willingness to learn and work well as part of a small team
  • DBS check at enhanced level
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes
