UK Payroll Manager

Role Overview:The successful candidate will be responsible for driving process improvements, implementing controls to mitigate and manage compliance and operational risk, and managing a variety of routine to complex operational and strategic activities. They will also partner with HR program functions to ensure processes meet design requirements and support larger, complex initiatives by identifying solutions that meet business needs and priorities.
Responsibilities:- Perform complex analytics, consulting, and process design tasks to support the successful delivery of pay services
- Evaluate existing processes, technologies, and routines to drive process improvements
- Implement controls to mitigate and manage compliance and operational risk
- Manage a variety of routine to complex operational and strategic activities to ensure programs are executed accurately and effectively, while coaching and developing team members
- Partner with HR program functions on an ongoing basis to ensure processes meet design requirements
- Support larger, complex initiatives by identifying solutions that meet business needs and priorities
- Proven knowledge and experience of payroll end to end processes
- Focus on risk management
- Excellent time management skills
- Established Team Lead/Manager with the ability to build effective team relationships and promote an environment of trust and flexibility
- Previous experience of implementing new payroll software desirable e.g. UK Workday
- Proven track record of working in Payroll and an understanding of Payroll Finance
- Highly motivated individual who is ready for a role that allows them to put into practice the skills they have developed in their career to date
- Previous banking/financial services experience desirable but not essential
- Understanding of payroll accounting and finance
