About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Paediatric Emergency Department team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and contributing to the reduction of healthcare-acquired infections.

Main Responsibilities

You will assist in the provision and maintenance of a seamless service, working closely with our friendly and experienced team to deliver safe, holistic, and excellent care to patients. As a reflective practitioner, you will have the opportunity to develop your own capabilities and nursing knowledge, supported by our structured orientation and ongoing support.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Registered Paediatric Nurse with current entry on the NMC register.

Desirable

  • Current PILS or EPALS certificate or willingness to undertake in the future.
  • Evidence of post-qualification study.
  • Trained to administer IV therapy peripherally/centrally.
  • Phlebotomy/skin closure/cannulation/plastering competency.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a paediatric setting.
  • Experience or awareness of child protection issues.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with a paediatric emergency department/6 months acute nursing experience.
  • Evidence of supervising/managing junior members of staff/HCA's.
