Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at a special school for boys aged 5-18 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the nutritional and feeding requirements of students
  • Support students in achieving their educational and personal goals
  • Help with after-school clubs, extracurricular activities, and homework
  • Work with children who have complex emotional needs, recognising and de-escalating situations to prevent disruption
  • Maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or complex emotional needs
  • Ability to recognise and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to exercise authority and make decisive actions
  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering students to reach their full potential
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
