Job Summary:

The Assistant Team Manager will play a key role in supporting Social Workers within the Children in Care Team at Hampshire County Council. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality social care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Social Workers in the Children in Care Team to ensure statutory requirements are met and best interests of children are prioritized.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of care plans, including discharge of care orders, SGOs, and parenting assessments.
  • Supervise staff and support young people at high risk of exploitation, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Hold a small caseload and provide guidance and support to Social Workers as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience of statutory social care practice, working with children, young people, and their families.
  • Strong understanding of the Hampshire Approach and ability to promote the child's voice and views.
  • Passion for improving outcomes and lived experience of children, with a drive to make a personal contribution to our service.
  • High standards of practice and ability to maintain them, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Registration with Social Work England and ability to work in an office-based environment with travel around the county.
