Job Overview:

The Storeman is responsible for managing and organizing stock within the department, ensuring accurate stock control, rotation, and storage. This role requires working closely with the goods-in team, maintaining a clean and organized store area, and occasionally assisting with loading, unloading, and stock collection from other sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of organizing and managing all stock delivered to the department.
  • Ensure stock is rotated properly, with older stock used first to reduce waste.
Liaising with Goods-In Team:

Communicate daily with the goods-in team to stay updated on incoming stock for the department.

Plan and prepare for upcoming deliveries to ensure smooth handling and storage.

Receiving and Storing Deliveries:

Put away deliveries promptly and ensure all items are stored in the correct locations.

Maintain an organized storage area, ensuring quick access to items when needed.

Stock Audits and Counts:

Support monthly stock counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.

Record stock accurately and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.

Store Maintenance:

Ensure the storage area is always tidy, clean, and well-organized.

Maintain full knowledge of where stock is located at all times for quick retrieval.

Loading and Unloading Support:

Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries as required, especially during busy periods or with large shipments.

Forklift Operations and Training:

Operate forklifts for handling heavy items or organizing stock.

Provide forklift training to other team members as needed (training and certification will be provided).

Driving Duties:

Occasionally travel to the Hub site to collect ingredients or materials as required (vehicle provided by the company).

Ensure safe driving and timely collection of items when performing these duties.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a warehouse, stock management, or Storeman role preferred.

Ability to handle heavy items and perform physical tasks, including lifting, loading, and operating machinery.

Strong organizational skills to manage stock, maintain a clean store area, and ensure efficient rotation of goods.

Ability to liaise effectively with the goods-in team and other departments, ensuring clear communication regarding stock and deliveries.

Certification in forklift operations preferred (training will be provided if not certified).

A valid driver's license is required for occasional trips to collect ingredients or materials from other locations.

Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate stock counts and correct placement of goods.

Work Environment:

Location: Primarily based in the store or warehouse area, with occasional travel to other sites.

Physical Demands: This role involves regular physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and operating a forklift.
