Job Overview

This exciting opportunity is for a Specialist Community Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients aged 0-19 years.

This role offers the ideal candidate the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people, whilst developing their skills and expertise in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Gaining consent and undertaking physiotherapy assessment, clinically diagnosing, and formulating and implementing treatment plans using specialist knowledge and experience.

Working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) with indirect clinical supervision.

Supervising Band 5 physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students.

Performing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients aged 0-19 years, determining a clinical diagnosis and developing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying individual treatment programmes.

Ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Registration to practice with HCPC.
  • Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills in Paediatrics.
  • Specialist knowledge in anatomy and physiology to support relevant clinical skills.

They will also have a basic understanding of computers and their applications, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
