Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drilling Operations Assistant to join our team at Transocean. As a key member of our drilling operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the Driller in operating drilling and mud circulating equipment, promoting a safe and respectful work environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Driller in operating drilling and mud circulating equipment as instructed in the well program and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote Transocean Shared Values.
  • Report to the Driller and supervise Derrickhand, Pumphand, and Floorhand, Rover.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and operational discipline requirements.
  • Participate in pre-tour meetings with the drilling crew and assist in the planning and execution of drilling operations.
  • Assist in the supervision of drilling equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor mud systems and supervise solids control equipment and mud mixing operations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of rig move operations.
  • Operate drilling and associated equipment as directed by the Driller.
  • Participate in safety meetings and pre-tour meetings as required.
  • Assist in conducting drilling operations safety drills as and when required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful military discharge (preferred).
  • Graduate of trade school or university (preferred).
  • Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
  • Knowledge of technical calculations required for safe operation within drilling operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid well control certificate.
Working Environment

As a Drilling Operations Assistant at Transocean, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a team of experienced professionals. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions. You must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.
