About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our committed and supportive team in the Haematology and Oncology unit at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders.

Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, actively participating in recruitment and staff development reviews.
  • Manage patient care according to established policies and protocols, taking appropriate action and seeking guidance from other members of the multi-disciplinary team when necessary.
  • Plan and manage staffing levels and skill mix to meet the needs of our patients, ensuring effective workflow and optimal care delivery.
  • Contribute to ward or service development projects, audits, and quality initiatives, collaborating with senior staff to ensure they meet standards and targets.
  • Assist in the annual appraisal process, providing constructive feedback and support to colleagues.
  • Demonstrate expertise in accessing up-to-date evidence and critically analysing it to inform care practices.

Requirements
  • Current NMC Registration
  • SACT trained and holding current UKONS competency
  • Willingness or evidence of working towards Master's level academic study
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £42,046 - £56,770 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, opportunities for professional development, and a comprehensive induction programme.
