We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced chemotherapy setting, delivering systemic anti-cancer therapy to patients with various oncology and haematological conditions. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of SACT treatments to a scheduled group of patients.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, advocating for their needs and supporting them throughout their cancer journey. With a focus on teamwork and collaboration, you will contribute to a positive and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy: Safely administer SACT treatments to patients with a range of oncology and haematological conditions, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the MDT: Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care, discussing treatment plans, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate Effectively: Develop strong relationships with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, providing clear and empathetic communication to address concerns and promote understanding.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and outcomes, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current NMC Registration: Hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Postgraduate Education or Willingness to Work Towards: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, either through existing postgraduate qualifications or a willingness to pursue further education.
  • Competencies in Delivering SACT- SACT Passport: Possess relevant competencies and certification in delivering SACT treatments.
  • PUBLIC SECTOR LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: Be able to communicate fluently in English, demonstrating an appropriate standard of language proficiency.
