Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to join our team at Blue Arrow - Derby. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including cooking, stock control, ordering, supplier liaison, and financial analysis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a Head Chef in a fresh food restaurant or kitchen. They will be passionate about fresh food, possess strong leadership skills, and be able to work well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and flexibility in their working hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee all kitchen operations, including cooking, stock control, ordering, supplier liaison, and financial analysis.
  • Leadership: Build strong relationships with colleagues and kitchen teams to create a positive, motivated, and engaged team.
  • Food Safety: Ensure full compliance with food hygiene regulations and collaborate with the leadership team to maintain a 5-star food hygiene rating.
  • Staffing: Manage staffing levels and create rotas to maximise efficiency.
  • Menu Development: Engage with continuous improvement and work with other departments and suppliers to source ingredients and craft dishes that uphold high standards and passion for amazing fresh food.
About Us

We offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £34,000 per annum, 28 days holiday with three days off at Christmas and New Year's Day, staff discount of 25%, pension scheme, structured working week, limited evening working, and training and development opportunities.
