About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Project Specialist to join our team at the Gambling Commission. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of our financial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly financial performance reports to tight deadlines, working closely with the Revenue Team to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Provide financial support to the Commission's licence fee review workstream, ensuring that accurate financial forecasts support proposed licence fee changes.
  • Undertake horizon scanning work to monitor trends, themes, and policy developments that will inform income forecasts and fee development.
  • Use analytical and modelling skills to review financial data, presenting insights and providing steer to relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our sponsor body DCMS and other key external contacts.
  • Provide financial support to the development and implementation of the Statutory Levy.
Person Specification
  • Experience of undertaking and communicating analysis, interpreting financial data, and providing valuable insights that inform risk-based decisions and challenge assumptions.
  • Experience in interpreting data and providing intelligence to support the formulation of both short-term and long-term strategic plans.
  • Significant experience of building, maintaining, and interpreting complex financial models (Excel).
