Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is a leading design, engineering, and project management consultancy with a global presence. We are seeking an experienced Associate Fire Engineer to join our Building Design Practice, who will be responsible for delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across various sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire engineering, with experience working with multiple fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, and EN45545. They will also have a proven track record of successfully delivering fire strategies and have experience with fire modelling.

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver fire engineering design solutions to clients across various sectors.
  • Work with multiple fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, and EN45545.
  • Develop and implement fire strategies.
  • Assess fire-related risks in projects and work collaboratively to mitigate where possible.
  • Review and comment on the quality of fire safety-related installations.
  • Undertake tenders for new work.
  • Develop client relationships to develop potential work opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, take part in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree, preferably fire engineering or alternatively a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.
  • Strong experience working with multiple fire standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering fire strategies.
  • Fire modelling experience beneficial.
  • Working towards chartered fire engineer status.
  • Flexible approach to the working environment.
  • Willingness to travel a positive advantage.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
