Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Armed Violence Reduction (AVR) Policy and Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping our policies and strategies for mine action and armed violence reduction.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a global scale, collaborating with stakeholders and donors to identify funding opportunities and expand humanitarian operations in mine action and AVR.

You will be responsible for consolidating a community of practice on AVR policies and acting as a focal point for the development of multi-country initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of mine action and armed violence reduction activities within existing and new programs;
  • Collaborate in the definition of policies and strategies to leverage HI's expertise in AVR;
  • Participate in professional networks in the field of AVR and analyze donor trends to identify funding opportunities;
  • Represent HI to stakeholders and contribute to sectoral advocacy initiatives.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in conflict/security management, international development or international relations;
  • At least 3 years' experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in mine action, arms and munitions management, armed violence reduction and related disciplines;
  • Excellent project management, strategy design and partnership building skills;
  • Fluency in English and a good command of French; knowledge of another language at an advanced level would be an asset.
