About the Role

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team in Barnsley. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personalised Support: Provide guidance and tailored support to students, helping them stay engaged with the curriculum and develop coping strategies.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour strategies to promote a positive learning environment and support students in making good behavioural choices.
  • Emotional and Social Development: Foster a secure and supportive atmosphere, providing emotional guidance to build students' resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of students, tailoring interventions based on individual needs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role working with students facing behavioural challenges.
  • A strong sense of empathy, patience, and dedication to helping students overcome emotional and social barriers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work effectively within a team.
