Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Education and Training Team as a Clinical Training Specialist. The successful candidate will play a key role in the co-ordination, implementation, development, and delivery of training programmes for pharmacy trainees.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Pharmacist, Education & Training in the co-ordination, implementation, development, and delivery of training programmes for pharmacy trainees.
  • Work closely with senior members of the pharmacy E&T team and the wider pharmacy team to develop and support learners and supervisors, and to ensure an effective, inclusive, and innovative learning environment and culture.
  • Play an essential part in supporting the smooth running of our training programmes for Trainee Pharmacists (TPs) and Foundation Pharmacists (FPs); monitoring progress, identifying new ways to provide the required learning opportunities, and continuously striving to improve the overall learning experience.
  • Act as an Educational Supervisor, Practice Supervisor, and/or Expert Witness as required.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of cross-sector, undergraduate, and work experience placements.

We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs and offer a range of healthcare services to people in south west Essex and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county. Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford.

We are part of the North East London Cancer Alliance and are working to reduce waiting times for our patients.

Requirements
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a UK Pharmacist.
  • Experience of staff training and supervision, including appraising performance and identifying training needs.
  • Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner, including a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Desirable: experience of acting in a Practice or Educational Supervisor role, managing staff, and leading teams.
