Childcare Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate individual to provide emotional and practical support to children aged 7-18 in our residential care home. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing emotional and mental challenges.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, permanent position based near Warrington, but similar opportunities are available across our homes throughout the North West. As a Childcare Support Specialist, you will provide emotional and practical support to children, fostering their development and well-being. You will assist with daily routines, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and build positive relationships with children, empowering them to grow in confidence and independence.
Requirements:
We require a Level 2 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, as well as experience working with children, particularly those with complex needs or challenging behaviors. You must have a genuine passion for helping children overcome difficulties and achieve their potential, and a therapeutic approach to care, focusing on empathy and understanding. Strong organisational and communication skills are also essential. A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are required, as well as flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include providing emotional and practical support to children, assisting with daily routines, building positive relationships with children, supporting the team in maintaining compliance with OFSTED standards, and promoting a safe and inclusive home environment tailored to individual needs.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is £20,776 - £26,548 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including casual dress, cycle to work scheme, discounted or free food, free parking, health & wellbeing programme, and store discount.
