Job Summary

The Governance Leader will provide strategic support to Trustees, ensuring adherence to governance standards and overseeing Synod planning. You will stay updated on governance trends, offering strategic advice to stakeholders, and manage meetings to ensure inclusivity and constitutional integrity.

You will lead election processes, facilitate member development initiatives, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will offer advisory support to clergy and oversee leadership development, managing operational aspects, including line management and financial responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience of working in a pressured governance environment and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Educated to degree level or experience of governance in a charity or not-for-profit environment.
  • IT proficiency (MS Office suite).
  • Able to empathise with the mission and values of the Church of England.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as required.
