We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a prestigious special school in Birmingham. As a SEN Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Speech & Language Difficulties.

Job Description:

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching team to develop personalised education plans for pupils aged 4 to 11 years who have special education needs and/or disabilities arising from cognition and learning difficulties.

  • Provide individualised support to students with SLD and Speech & Language Difficulties, tailoring assistance to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to implement personalised education plans and monitor progress effectively.
  • Be a source of encouragement and motivation, helping students build their self-esteem and independence.

Requirements:

  1. Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  2. Experience working with students with SLD and Speech & Language Difficulties.
  3. A genuine passion for special education and the desire to support young learners in achieving their best.
  4. Patience, empathy, and understanding in providing support to children with diverse needs.

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
