GP Training Programme Director Opportunity

The NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of GP Training Programme Director. This position involves providing education in a safe environment for doctors wanting to become GPs, planning, facilitating, and evaluating the process of learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School to lead the delivery of a wide range of functions aligned to the NHS England mandate. Key responsibilities include overseeing the GP School programme management, advising the Head of School on specialty-specific matters, trainee/trainer concerns, recruitment to training posts and programmes, and utilizing educational resources to support learners within programmes.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Ability to innovate and develop a clear vision for the programme.
  • Politically astute with the ability to manage complexity and uncertainty.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain objectivity.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
  • Experience of clinical and educational leadership, including managing a multi-professional team.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
  • Understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations, and regulatory bodies.

Salary: £103,336 to £127,018 a year.
