Job Overview

The GP Training Programme Director plays a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of GP specialty trainees. This position requires a strong leader who can inspire and motivate others to achieve excellence in clinical education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational and pastoral support to GP trainees, working closely with a team of Programme Directors, Deans, and Administrators. This involves developing and implementing educational strategies, managing quality assurance processes, and promoting leadership that inspires and empowers staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare education management, with experience in clinical leadership and innovation. They will be able to positively influence GP trainees to achieve the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational strategies to deliver high-quality training to GP trainees
  • Manage quality assurance processes to ensure excellence in clinical education
  • Lead and motivate a team of Programme Directors, Deans, and Administrators to achieve shared goals
  • Promote leadership that inspires and empowers staff to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Primary Care Department to progress the GP school operational plan
Requirements
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Experience in clinical leadership and innovation
  • Good knowledge of the GP curriculum and associated mandatory requirements
  • Ability to positively influence GP trainees to achieve high standards of clinical practice and patient care
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills
