Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants play a vital role in supporting students with behavioural challenges in a secondary school in Tameside. This rewarding position involves assisting students develop self-regulation skills, fostering a positive school environment, and collaborating with teachers to ensure a focused learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • One-on-One Guidance: Provide tailored support to students exhibiting behavioural difficulties, helping them identify triggers and develop strategies for positive self-management.
  • Classroom Assistance and Management: Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a productive learning environment and assisting students who may need redirection or additional encouragement to engage positively with their peers and schoolwork.
  • Develop and Implement Behaviour Plans: Work closely with the pastoral and teaching teams to create personalised behaviour support plans, regularly monitoring progress and adjusting approaches as needed.
  • Parent and Family Liaison: Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and engaging them in strategies that reinforce positive behaviour both at school and at home.

We offer an estimated annual salary of £24,000 - £30,000 depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
