Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Qualified Teacher of Visually Impaired Children and Young People to join our team at Middlesbrough Council.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to visually impaired children and young people, working closely with their families, educational settings, and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of visually impaired learners.
  • Advocate for positive outcomes and inclusive practices that promote the well-being and success of visually impaired children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure seamless support and collaboration.
  • Design and deliver training programs for school staff and multi-disciplinary agencies to enhance their understanding and support of visually impaired learners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of inclusive education policies and practices that promote equality and access for all.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in teaching and working with visually impaired children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in your approach to teaching and learning, with a willingness to innovate and try new approaches.
