Job Title: Sensory Support Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sensory Support Specialist to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Sensory Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing sensory support to students with visual or hearing impairments, adapting learning materials and teaching methods to meet individual needs, and collaborating with teachers and other specialists to develop educational plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sensory support to students with visual or hearing impairments, including adapting learning materials and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to develop educational plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and progress, and maintain accurate records and reports on student progress.
  • Offer training and support to school staff on sensory issues, ensuring that they are equipped to provide the best possible support to students.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, communicating with teachers, other specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in sensory support or special education, with a minimum of a Level 3 qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, working with students with sensory impairments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher level qualification in sensory support or special education.
  • Additional training in Braille or British Sign Language.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in educational settings such as schools and colleges.
  • May require travel between different locations within the region.
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work.
