About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Food Materials team at Mondelēz International. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and coaching within the Ingredient Research Innovation Space (IRIS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality cross-functional, cross-category customer engagement by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of research generated, and timely/accurate provision of updates.
  • Plan and execute projects cross-category in the area of materials science to manipulate/improve final product properties/ingredient functionality in order to support the growth strategy of Mondelēz International.
  • Lead the formulation and communication of hypotheses to stakeholders, design experimental plans, conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyse data.
  • Interpret data, findings, and results and present status updates to project leaders and stakeholders. Define subsequent steps with platform or project manager while demonstrating scientific know-how and capability to link findings to business objectives.
  • Organize and plan lab and pilot-scale trials. Demonstrate good organisational skills, including engagement with relevant analytical co-ordinators/lab managers and relevant experts. Perform a range of line-side analysis to support execution of trials in IRIS.
  • Structure data, findings, or results in technical memos and present status updates to project manager/stakeholders up to VP level. Write technical reports, including literature reviews, with minimal guidance from the manager or senior colleagues.
  • Expert user of specific equipment in IRIS. Equipment owner responsible for overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide training and supervise junior staff in routine activities and methods and interpretation.
  • Take responsibility for elements of specific projects and/or specific areas of general IRIS/sample administration and assigned housekeeping tasks as required.
