Job Description

As a Transport Planner at Stobart, you will play a critical role in developing effective transportation plans for our customers within the broader Stobart network, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and plan drivers effectively through ongoing communication and the use of advanced transportation software.
  • Control and plan allocated resources (vehicles, drivers, trailers) to ensure adherence to legal requirements (Working Time Directive and EU drivers' hours regulations).
  • Ensure daily plans are completed in real-time, managing resources efficiently to maximize utilization while minimizing costs.
  • Maintain internal tracking systems to an exceptional standard.
  • Regularly utilize in-house planning tools and systems to manage workload and monitor efficiency.
  • Understand and achieve key performance targets related to fleet safety and efficiency (including utilization and costing).
  • Communicate regularly with customer service teams and drivers to ensure customer KPIs and targets are met and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, with a willingness to resolve complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • CPC desirable but not required.
  • Experience in planning across multiple depots.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurized environment.
  • Customer focus on delivery performance.
  • Commercially and financially astute, with a drive to deliver exceptional results.
  • Experience with a TMS system.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment.
